Fleur Broer
Director
Fleur has been director of IVOR since 1 July 2021 and brings extensive experience from the travel industry. With years of involvement as a director at various companies within the sector, she has gained in-depth knowledge of the dynamics and challenges that characterise the travel industry. Taking over IVOR was an excellent opportunity for her to combine her passion for travel and professionalisation. With dedication and expertise, she guides the institute, which annually delivers dozens of well-trained tour representatives to the travel industry.
Fleur has a clear vision of the future of travel, with professionalisation playing a crucial role. She understands better than anyone that well-trained tour representatives are essential for both creating memorable experiences and responding to the ever-changing needs of travellers. By continuously investing in high-quality training, she strives to take the travel industry to the next level.
In the modern travel world, tour representatives are needed who have strong organisational and communication skills, and who can deal effectively with cultural differences and unexpected situations. Fleur is determined to constantly innovate and adapt the training courses at IVOR to the demands of the market, so that tomorrow’s tour leaders are optimally prepared for their role.
With this focus on professionalisation, Fleur wants to contribute to a travel industry in which quality, service and expertise are central, and in which tour representatives develop into true ambassadors of their profession.
Alita van Wanrooij
Trainer
As an experienced tour manager and teacher, I am happy to be part of IVOR’s teaching team. Since 2016, I have been working as a certified tour manager for various tour operators such as OAD, TUI (Kras), Boat&Bike Tours and Aktiva Tours. Norway, Iceland and Austria are the countries I most love to visit. Passion, professionalism and personality are my top priorities when I accompany guided group tours. As a tour manager, you make the difference when it comes to offering your guests the most beautiful trip.
I would love to guide you as a newcomer in the exciting profession of tour management. Besides being a tour manager, I have extensive experience as a teacher, coach and business consultant from my own company MRCT. Let’s take your journey towards earning your role as a certified tour manager together! Good luck with the training!
Jacqueline Hof
Trainer
My name is Jacqueline Hof and I am one of the teachers at IVOR and AVR certified tour manager. Like my colleagues, I also have extensive practical experience and enjoy introducing newcomers to the profession of tour management. By training practical skills in simulated situations, we prepare you to guide a group of travellers during their holidays.
My practical knowledge is based on years of experience as a hostess in Italy and Israel, among others, and as a tour manager on guided group tours both inside and outside Europe. In the position of Manager of Tour Representatives I selected, instructed and supervised tour managers.
Currently, in addition to teaching, I work as a Trainer/Coach at the ANWB. I have completed NLP Practitioner and Master Training and I see this knowledge as enriching when giving and developing skills training. Finally, I have also undertaken System Thinking/Team Coaching training.
Good luck with the training!
Mieke de Smit
Trainer
I am Mieke de Smit and have been working for quite some time as a certified tour manager for various travel organisations but mainly for Sawadee. In this position, I guide adventurous group tours in Latin America and occasionally in other continents such as Australia. I like to convey my passion for travelling and other cultures and history to my guests. I know from practical experience what is involved in guiding a trip professionally in order to make it a successful experience for your guests. And that is quite a lot! After all, you are a real jack-of-all-trades!
Previously, I worked as a teacher within secondary and special education and adult education for many years. I would be happy to use my skills and practical experience to support you in achieving your goal: to professionally lead a group on a guided group tour. Good luck with the training!
Martijn Smit
Trainer
For many years, I have worked as a tour manager and as a trainer for IVOR. In 1999, after completing my studies, I started working for Djoser. An adventurous travel company with whom I saw a lot of the world. The cool thing about guiding trips is that every trip is different. This depends on many factors, but the main one is the group composition. The work of tour manager therefore largely consists of communicating well with guests in different organisations. Nowadays, I also work for TUI and guide trips with singles. The different target groups ensure that the work of a tour manager is never boring.
With my background in travel and education, I would love to take you on a voyage of discovery through the fascinating world of travel!
